A Word from Pastor Seratt regarding Marriage. It is no secret that the enemy is working overtime to sabotage the family and marriages. However, our vision is to strengthen the family because we know that strong families are foundational for a strong church. Over 20 years ago, the First Lady and I made a commitment to each other for LIFE. Twenty five years later, through thick and thin, rich and poor, and more better than worse, we know that there is an anointing upon our marriage. In Hosea chapter 10, the Word declares “...like priest like people…” The covering one submits their life to is a very serious decision. Although there is an anointing of prosperity upon our lives, which includes domestic prosperity, a great marriage takes work and a knowledge of God’s Word. To discover more about God’s plan for a successful marriage, we offer comprehensive training through Covenant Marriage Ministry (CMM). These classes are designed for couples who are committed to unearth God’s best for their covenant marriage. We are also proud to offer the Young Married Connection (ages 18-39) and the Creative Marriage Connection (ages 40+). The mission of Covenant Marriage Ministry is to build covenant marriages that last a lifetime through the teachings of God’s Word and strong accountability. To enable couples to protect their marriage against the enemy’s plan by not only understanding God’s principles of marriage, but by applying them. By following God’s plan and standards for marriage, it will produce a healthy, abundant, one-flesh relationship and will enable couples to impart into the lives of children and to the generations to come. So, no matter how long you have been married, you have already experienced a range of seasons in your life. The classes provide an atmosphere of fun, fellowship and teaching that will supply your marriage with the promises of God and propel it to experiencing His very best. The kickoff for this exciting new ministry is Friday, November 20, 2009. If one of you is over forty and the other is under, we still want you!! Before You Say "I Do."This four-hour training covers a variety of subject material including: Covenant Marriage/Committment, Communication/Conflict Resolution, God's role for husband and wife and Finances. The premarital teaching is taught by our Premarital counselor couples who have strong Christ-centered marriages.
THE PURPOSE OF PREMARITAL MINISTRY: We believe that entering into Covenant Marriage should be done with great care and reverence, as this is a life-long commitment. We offer the Covenant Premarital course to help couples prepare for a godly marriage and have a better understanding of what the marriage (covenant) commitment involves. Through this process we encourage couples to set aside time for the marriage preparation instead of concentrating only on the wedding plans. A marriage is for a lifetime! INVOLVEMENT TIME: Varies Covenant Premarital CourseThe following requirements must be met in order to receive premarital counseling or have your wedding at CIC and/or performed by a minister of CIC. • You must be entering into a Covenant Marriage. • There must be a 1 month notice from the time you contact the Wedding Coordinator to the date of your wedding. • You must both attend the CIC Premarital Course (see CIC Calendar for the next session). • We must receive a completed wedding packet with a $200.00 security deposit to hold your wedding date. (See “How To Book a Wedding at CIC). The Covenant Premarital Course helps prepare engaged couples for a Godly marriage. Couples who participate in our premarital course will have a better understanding of what the marriage (covenant) commitment involves. The session include:

• Marriage Vision Statement
• Sex in Marriage
• Needs, Roles and Responsibilities and much more! Through this process, we encourage couples to set aside time for the marriage preparation instead of concentrating only on the wedding plans.
