About Us

The Covenant Story began in 1992 when Pastors Larry and Carie Seratt arrived in Phoenix with everything they owned in the back of a Ryder Truck. Pastor Seratt was raised in the Valley and later moved to Oklahoma where he met his bride. The young Pastor dreamed of returning to Phoenix and planting a church that would serve people of all ethnicities and socio economic backgrounds, those who were hurting, and those searching for more. Pastor Seratt’s vision was to reach all of these groups of people and help them to grow in Christ.

Seven months after Pastor Larry and Carie arrived in the Valley, they began a small Bible study, meeting with four other families in their living room. In April of 1993, the first Covenant service was held and 63 people showed up. The exciting journey began and in more than one decade of ministry in the Valley, God has expanded the influence of CIC both nationally and internationally.
